Scrolling one day through Facebook i stopped in my tracks as a picture of a pretty little girl & a plea from her family came up.

The picture was of a 3 year old girl called Edie Molyneux who was suffering from a rare cancer called DIPG.

DIPG is a type of high grade brain tumour. High grade brain tumours tend to grow quickly and are more likely to spread to other parts of the brain or spinal cord. They are sometimes referred to as being ‘malignant’ or ‘cancerous’.

I glanced over at my 2 children, one bouncing from sofa to sofa, the other chewing her hand and wigglying her legs gleefully and it hit me- this could happen to any of us.

Id wanted to do something for charity for a long time, but struggled at what cause to raise money for. When i read about local Girl Edie, it was then i decided that would be the charity i would raise the money for.

It started with a local raffle & then exploded into a raffle/charity night with the help of my facebook friend, now friend Carli O Toole.

Carli works as a cleaner in the Heswall Bar Paradox, she was able to get us the venue, DJ, Buffet (Thanks to the owner,Harry), acoustic session by Rakeem Abiru (superb!)and also a live band called The Smile Forecast (who were outstanding!)

We also had Two Drag Queen hosts ( Thanks to johnny Paris and friend) as we felt we wanted to keep spirits high and memento going.

More people got on board, Kirsty Foley and Jenny Sheppard who helped with selling the raffle tickets and making cakes/raffle hampers/ sweet stalls etc also collecting raffle prizes.

I was overwhelmed by the small businesses owners on Wirral, Manchester and Liverpool who were more than happy to donate towards a raffle prize for the cause. I even managed to get gift sets off well known brands like sanctuary and a Radio Tour off Capital one liverpool.

The night was a roaring success considering the awful weather conditions outside. Paradox was packed out and everyone had a fabulous time and made an incredible effort. The hiccups were minimal and everyone was willing to dig deep to help raise as much as possible.

In the end we managed to raise £2000+ with money still being added to that total, as auctions are still taking place.

Below i will list each company and person who helped with a special thanks to all.

I want to keep the details short about the arranging of the night as i don’t want to take the focus off why this event took place..

The reason and the cause was always to raise money to help towards life saving treatment for Edie and her family.

£700,000 is needed to treat this condition which is an extortionate amount, but as every parents knows, your childs life is priceless! There is no length a mother or father wouldn’t go to save their baby. No amount you wouldn’t pay, no ocean you wouldn’t cross,no mountain you wouldn’t move.

Its an amount that can’t be raised alone and extended help and outreach is needed via the community and across the country.

If you have a passion for walking, get people to sponsor you.

If you have a passion for baking, do a cake sale towards the cause.

Sky dives, head shaves, mountian climbing for the thrill seekers and the daring! There are endless opportunitys to raise money for the charity.

Pamper days for the beauty therapist

Crazy hair day for the hairdressers

Or, if you do not have time to do these things….

There are 321,238 people alone on Wirral, if we were all able to text donate £3- Edies family would have the funds needed to treat this aggressive cancer and save Edies life.

Life is a gift- give the gift of health, recieve the gift of life

Text EDIE03 £(amount) to 70070
